My Personal Style Journey & The Bigger Picture
How you present yourself is far more important than you’d ever imagine.
I got into fashion as an early teenager, when I was simply existing in the depths of eating disorders and body dysmorphia. I turned to styling to attempt to create a kind of alter ego, to make myself feel beautiful in spite of what was happening internally.
After feeling the shift in perspective that decorating myself in this way created, I became completely devoted to discovering how many different versions of Aubrey I could uncover through experimenting with my personal style. Eventually, I had successfully brainwashed myself into falling in love with who I was, through a plethora of dress-ups and bedazzlements. As my confidence grew and my style flourished, I began sharing more of my journey on social media, and received such a beautiful, uplifting response from other women following along. That’s when I realised I had a talent—that I had been refining an art form which is now my biggest creative outlet.
Starting from where I did, I cannot give fashion enough credit for where I am with my self-worth today—feeling more flamboyantly beautiful than I ever have. It has become my personal mission to help more women realise their worth through exploring this wacky, wonderful world themselves, and to understand that being loud about their beauty and expression should be encouraged and celebrated. I know that every single woman has the potential to shine and to present the most extravagant parts of herself—sometimes it just takes a little extra support to accept and explore that, and I will always proudly provide it.
I am so elated to work with women who are preparing to take that leap into self-love and self-expression. It was the best thing I ever did, and I truly believe you will find the same.
